Roger Shiels, FAIA. Mr. Shiels holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon and is a registered Architect. Between 1963 and 1972, Mr. Shiels was designing and managing projects throughout the Northwest as a partner in the architectural firm of Church & Shiels, AIA. Major commissions included residential and commercial building projects located at the Sunriver and Salishan resort communities. In 1972, Mr. Shiels formed his own firm providing project design and management services on urban development and transportation projects. Mr. Shiels and Mr. Obletz joined forces in 1983 and founded the firm of Shiels & Obletz. Since then Mr. Shiels has been a force behind many of Portland's most important civic projects, including the Transit Mall, Pioneer Courthouse Square, Westside Light Rail, Banfield Light Rail and, most recently, the Portland Streetcar project. |
